ABOUT NATALIE

Hi there! I'm Natalie, and it’s so nice to meet you.

I’m a San Diego-based photographer, born and raised in Idaho. I got my first camera when I was 15 years old. While most of my early photographs were of friends modeling in rural potato fields, I knew immediately that I had found something worth pursuing. I later moved to Santa Cruz to study art, working with a variety of mixed media, but at the end of the day, photography remained my bread and butter—and I really, really like bread and butter.

I find constant inspiration in the outdoors, my grandparents' old photo albums, and the 20th-century photographers who established this medium as a true art form. I would describe my work as nostalgic documentary with a touch of editorial. My goal is to create images that feel effortless and authentic, prioritizing a curated artistic style over traditional posing.

When I’m not behind the lens at a wedding, you can usually find me at Timshel, the retail shop I co-own with my best friend. Otherwise, I’m likely making moves at BAC CLUB, a chess and backgammon club I host here in San Diego.
